Hello friends

Hi everyone. I would like to thank everyone for being so loyal to this blog and for continuing to follow this blog with my lack of posts. For those of you who still care, I’m going to give a bit of a life update and to let you all know where you guys can find me, for posts abut my life, exercise, diet, and every other tiny thing going on in my life.

Paleo Diet

So, I’ve been realizing that although my eating habits aren’t bad: I eat fruits, vegetables, low-fat milk, whole grains etc, however I’ve noticed myself still being bloated and my stomach is upset a lot of the time. My doctor thinks that I may be lactose intolerant or allergic to gluten “or both or neither” so for the next month she wants me to try the Paleo Diet. The Paleo Diet for those of you who don’t know is basically only eating what our ancestors would eat before agriculture. So basically I get to eat meat (the leaner the better), fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, etc.

I have to cut out a number of things

  1. Sodas
  2. Partially Hydrogenated Oils
  3. Junk Food
  4. Fast Food
  5. Grains
  6. Dairy
  7. Processed Foods
  8. Legumes
  9. Potatoes
  10. Pseudograins

Really the only thing that will be really hard for me is potatoes. And we are allowed coconut and almond milk so I will be enjoying those things.

A friend of mine tried this diet and lost 9 inches off her waist in 1 week and her grandpa’s diabetes is in control now because of this diet but honestly I just hope I can enjoy a meal without being up all night with an upset stomach.

3rd Fit Test

Hey all,

So a few quick things before I discuss my 3rd fit test.

I visited my school for orientation last week and chose all of my classes. I’m so excited for all my classes and will be switching my major, I’m not sure what I’ll be changing it to yet, but after orientation I realized that business is not for me.

The day before I left for California, my family and I went to the beach and although I did apply SPF75 sunscreen my back was burnt to a crisp. I was so uncomfortable on the plane and could barely walk Sunday and Monday night so I didn’t work out those two days. I’m upset with myself but I was in so much pain getting that extra work out wasn’t worth it. I did however get more than 10,000 steps both of those days. So, it’s not like I laid on my butt I just couldn’t put a sports bra on and do vigorous exercising.

Anyway, here are my 3rd attempt at the fit test results.

Switch Kicks

    • Day 1: 46
  • Day 36: 70

Power Jacks

    • Day 1: 33
  • Day 36: 56

Power Knees

    • Day 1: 78
  • Day 36: 90

Power Jumps

    • Day 1: 15
  • Day 36: 34

Globe Jumps

    • Day 1: 10
  • Day 36: 11

Suicide Jumps

    • Day 1: 7
  • Day 36: 13

Push-Up Jacks

    • Day 1: 10
  • Day 36: 19

Low Plank Oblique

    • Day 1: 32 (I don’t think this was right tbh)

2 weeks Down

Hey all,

So today I just finished my 2nd attempt at the insanity fit test (you do it every 2 weeks) and am super happy with my results thus far.

for those of you who have never heard of insanity or done it, basically you do like 8 exercises and track your progress and then at the end you see how far you’ve come.

So basically like

Switch Kicks

This requires 2 kicks to equal 1 rep. Each leg is kicked in front of you with the goal to get your foot above your waist.

    • Day 1: 46
  • Day 15: 67

Power Jacks

Similar to jumping jacks, but instead of keeping your legs straight when your arms come down you instead come into a squat position.

    • Day 1: 33
  • Day 15: 50

Power Knees

Starting with your hands over your head and your left leg behind you, raise your leg as you lower your hands to your knee. Do this as fast as you can.

    • Day 1: 78
  • Day 15: 80

Power Jumps

Get into a squat position and jump before landing softly back on the ground.

    • Day 1: 15
  • Day 15: 30

Globe Jumps

This required 4 jumps to equal 1 rep. Jump right, jump back, jump left, jump forward. That’s 1 rep and make sure to get your arms moving with each jump, too.

    • Day 1: 10
  • Day 15: 10

Suicide Jumps

Squat, push-up position, squat, and jump. The key with this one is to make sure you don’t kink your back when going into the push-up position.

    • Day 1: 7
  • Day 15: 11

Push-Up Jacks

This is similar to a normal push-up, but when you go down your legs go out similar to a jumping jack.

    • Day 1: 10
  • Day 15: 17

Low Plank Oblique

Get into a plank position with elbows on the floor and hands clasped.  Then bring your left leg forward and to the side. Repeat with your right leg.

    • Day 1: 32 (I don’t think this was right tbh)
  • Day 15: 28

So basically I’m doing super good and just wanted to update you all. Also my dad has started to notice me slimming down which is awesome. I’ll post an update photo on Day 30

Life Update

Hello dear friends, it is 12:48 am here where I live and I’m sleepless (not in Seattle). My body is on some wacked up sleeping schedule where I sleep until noon which is fab, however I’m up until the wee hours of the morning which is far less than great. So… what better thing to do at this time than blog?

A little update on Insanity: I completed week 1 of insanity however I am doing week one over (I’m on day 5 already) because I wanted to see if I could push myself more and take fewer breaks which as a matter of fact, I can. That’s really it. I even did the fit test again and my results already skyrocketed which I’m beyond excited about.

An update on my weight: I weighed myself on Saturday June 20th and weighed 185 pounds which is 8 pounds lighter than the last time I weighed myself (the end of May I think??) so also very proud of myself too.

College update: I will be visiting my college in Southern California in less than a month due to the fact that my registration and orientation date is July 20th. My dad and I fly out on the 19th in the morning, get oriented on the 20th, and leave the night of the 21st. Which is super fun I just hope to not get sunburnt while I’m out there. I am going into international business with a minor in spanish and biology focusing on zoology. My goal in life is to travel and work with animals or travel and own a lot of animals: preferably both. So after orientation I’ll probably share my class load on here. I am moving cross-country so we will be flying but PRAISE Bed Bath and Beyond for being phenomenal and letting me order things online and shipping right to their location closest to my University. Such a life saver.

I’m very excited for college however it hasn’t hit me that I’m going so far away and that everything will be different once August 19th hits. But I hope I’m ready for this change and I look forward to this new chapter in my life.

Happy Birthday to me

Good afternoon bloggers. look at me actually posting. Very proud of myself. Any who, I started the day off sort of right by waking up at 715 (natural thing that happens every year because I was born at 7:21 in the morning). I made myself a yummy breakfast quesadilla and checked my phone loving all of the tweets, texts, and instagram posts my friends were sending me. It’s a great feeling knowing that I have so many wonderful memories with so many people.

after that I was given a beautiful painting by my younger sister. She painted what Rapunzel always paints of herself watching the floating lanterns

It’s so beautiful and I’m very excited to put it in my dorm room.    I then got a knock on my door and it was an old lady carrying flowers addressed to me. I opened them up and inside was a beautiful bouquet of lilies, roses, peonies, and carnations and a note from my boyfriend. Major brownie points for picking all of my favorite flowers too.

Then I finished insanity Day 3, showered and will be heading out with friends a bit later.

So very thankful to be 18 and to have so many lovely people in my life.

3rd year anniversary

In case you all forgot who I was, it’s Alicia. I haven’t posted in a while and I recently hit my third year on wordpress. since my last post was a big update post, I would like to make another one.

I’m going to update you all on everything I talked about in my last post and maybe a few more things… I’m not all too sure yet

  1. I turned 17. Woot. Still 17. However my 18th birthday is tomorrow.
  2. I’m halfway through my senior year of high school. I finished high school on May 22nd
  3. I haven’t committed to a college yet but my number 1 choice is San Diego State University. I ended up committing to San Diego State University. Ready to be an Aztec!
  4. My 2 turtles were released into the wild, well the pond behind my mom’s work. So I know they’ll be kept fed and alive. The smaller of the two turtles my mom found dead about a month ago.
  5. I finished my golf career in October, will a spectacular performance at Conference and a pitiful one at Regionals. Not much to update here other than the fact that I’ve began my summer golf season with family and friends. And that I still burn just the same
  6. I stopped being friends with my best friend. She reported me for bullying 3 times during my senior year… I wasn’t actually bullying her,
  7. I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, and a binge eating disorder. Still coping with all three.
  8. My parents think working out will fix all my problems. My parents now think I have no problems.
  9. I didn’t back out of yearbook senior year even though that, US History, and my mom have sparked most of my problems. The yearbook turned out perfectly… because only my friend and I did it all… out of a 54 student staff.
  10. I learned I cannot bake (I forgot the flour….twice) I’m actually not terrible.
  11. I got my first C in a class. didn’t get one senior year shouts
  12. I joined my schools water polo team; my knee was happy about that. Didn’t play senior year because I wanted to continue nannying and make money for college.
  13. I began nannying 2 twin 5-year olds 4 days a week. They’re a handful
  14. went to prom solo. Didn’t go to prom solo this year.
  15. didn’t go to senior homecoming because why not?
  16. went to Kentucky with my whole family for a week for some R&R
  17. became my schools Executive Board Treasurer
  18. Met Claes Nobel
  19. Met and spoke with Tina Meier
  20. reconnected with old friends
  21. met new friends
  22. Started my last semester as a high-schooler
  23. Applied to 16 colleges (accepted into 10, waiting on 6) Accepted into 14

Alright so that’s been my life. I started insanity yesterday and I came to the realization that when I blog I lose weight however when I don’t blog I don’t lose weight. So, I am going to try to blog everyday. I received a new laptop for graduation so that should help with my blogging.

I would really enjoy some support during these next few months before college… I really want to make something of myself this summer and not go off to college unhappy in my skin. I’m very thankful that I still have over 200 followers even though I’ve posted once in the last two years. Thank you all for your continued support and I’ll make another post shortly describing day 1 and 2 of Insanity.
